FAQs
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance currently in order to protect your confidentiality and privacy in our work together. However, I do offer superbills, which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend first checking with your insurance company to see if they offer out-of-network mental health benefits.
How long should I expect to be in therapy?
Therapy is not a 'quick fix' and will take time, patience, and effort as we work to undo old patterns, heal from events that have broken trust with self and others, and create new ways of functioning in the world. Length of time in therapy depends on many factors and will be an open discussion as the therapeutic relationship continues based on your needs and goals. I recommend starting weekly to build the therapeutic relationship and then revisiting session frequency as needed to meet your needs from there.
What are therapy sessions like?
Our first few sessions together will primarily focus on relationship building, including exploration around what brings you, your child, or your family into therapy. From there, we will work toward understanding your hurts and gently guide toward a different way of understanding and functioning with yourself, your family, or the world around you. Sessions will include talking, creative expression, body-based techniques, and regulating emotions in the moment, depending on what your needs are. Sessions are collaborative, meaning that you're voice matters in pacing and timeline of our work together.
What can I do to supplement my therapy sessions?
Therapy is often just one hour of your week, leaving several other hours to grow, learn, do, and be. I recommend reading books, listening to podcasts, and integrating small moments of positive connection with others (going to the park with your children, calling a trusted friend on the phone, disconnecting from devices at the dinner table) as you are able. I'm happy to discuss any specific recommendations for resources when we meet.
What are your fees?
Individual therapy or parent consultation: $150
Family therapy: $180

All sessions are 50 minutes. Longer sessions are available at a prorated fee.

Life happens and things pop up. I require at least 24 hour notice for cancellations and reschedules. Cancellations within 24 hours and no show appointments will incur the full fee for the session.
What if I'm having an emergency?
I am not available at all times or offering crisis services at this time. If you or your loved one are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency room for assistance.
