Walk and Talk Therapy

You don't have to figure it out alone.

What your child or teen is going through right now can deeply shape how they see themselves - and how connected they feel to you, their peers, and the world around them. When emotions run high or communication breaks down, it can be hard to know how to help, even with the best of intentions.

The good news is that healing and growth don’t come from quick fixes—they come from safe, consistent relationships. Therapy can be one of those relationships. In my work with children, teens, and families, we focus on building trust, improving connection, and understanding how the brain and body respond to stress, grief, and overwhelming emotions. Together, we’ll move toward more clarity, stronger relationships, and a sense of stability.

I specialize in supporting kids, teens, and families navigating anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, depression, or high-pressure environments. Many of the young people and caregivers I work with feel stuck in patterns of overwhelm, shutdown, or disconnection. Whether your child is acting out, your teen seems distant, or your family is struggling to communicate, we’ll use a creative, individualized approach to reconnect emotions, thoughts, and nervous systems in ways that bring relief, strengthen relationships, and support lasting change.

At Abbie Balat, LPC, I welcome families who are curious about therapy - even if you’re feeling unsure or skeptical. My practice is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect for your family’s story and pace. You and your child deserve a space to feel seen, supported, and empowered. That’s what we’ll create together.
